So, here I am, in the midst of a blazing May day, fueled by caffeine and random bouts of nostalgia, thanks to The Locals Chelsea. I swear, this coffee shop deserves a medal for being my accomplice in procrastination.

Anyway, let’s rewind to July 2019, when the world was just as scorching, and I found myself in Camden Town with my buddy Rudy. We were on a mission: to feast on some darn good Japanese food. Camden was Rudy’s old haunt, and i thought it would be nice to go back.
We rendezvoused at the station, strolled down Parkway Road, and stumbled upon this adorable Japanese joint. It was snug inside, with chill tunes setting the mood just right after a long day. Rudy and I caught up on everything under the sun – work drama, life updates, and yeah, even dipped our toes into the murky waters of politics – my doing.
When our food arrived, Rudy went for a killer grilled fish fillet, while I went all-in on the sashimi. I mean, who needs rice when you can have raw fish, am I right? My love affair with sashimi began after I heard my cousin blabber about ceviche during his sailor days.

Back then, the thought of munching on “raw fish” made my eight-year-old self gag. But hey, times change, taste buds evolve, and here I am, craving sashimi like there’s no tomorrow.
So, spill the beans – do you share my obsession with raw fish? Or are you still stuck in the safe zone of sushi-grade fish?
Ah, reminiscing about simpler times… Here’s to more memories, more good food, and more impromptu trips down memory lane.
